Dear Friends,
We are thankful for the privilege of working with a new group of Bob Jones University students and graduates for the 2009
summer ministry of the Musical Mission Team. Our team was formed in 1990, and the Lord has graciously allowed us to minister
in Europe for around 10 weeks each summer for 19 years. We are an evangelistic team as well as a missions training team.
Many former team members now serve full-time on various foreign mission fields, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland,
Spain, and France.
Our team of 27 members comprises a choir, a brass ensemble and other instrumentalists, and several young preachers. We
will work with missionaries, national churches and European missions organizations throughout the summer to present concerts
that help attract members of the community to their churches. Each concert includes testimonies from the students and
ends with a Gospel message, and the choir sings in the local language. For several churches the team’s annual concerts are the
biggest evangelistic outreach event of the year.
After the concerts team members have opportunities to speak with those in attendance and give them Christian literature.
In four cities the team holds Bible conferences on topics chosen by the local leadership. This gives the local church an opportunity
to bring in believers from near and far for fellowship. The conferences end with a concert, sometimes in a neutral venue
such as a concert hall. This gives the hosts contacts with unbelievers they otherwise might never meet.
During the summer of 2009 the team will serve in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Slovakia. Our ministry will be
as broad as each local group of believers chooses to make it. During the summers of 2007 and 2008, for example, we had marvelous
opportunities to carry out evangelism among various Gypsy groups. A highlight of our work was a Sunday service in Kezmarok,
Slovakia, in which four Gypsy men accepted Christ as their Savior.
Please pray for the team as we finalize the itinerary and travel arrangements and learn the music we will sing in four different
languages. Also remember to pray for our hosts, who are making plans for our ministry, and for our preachers, who are preparing
their messages now. And then, remember us throughout the summer. The dates of our trip are May 27 through July 31.

Our greatest desires are to see souls saved to the glory of the Lord and to see young people consider the mission field for
