MMT Update August 28 - Final
Dr. McCauley ... Published: 8/28/2006

It is a joy to report that the Lord blessed the ministry of the 2006 Musical Mission Team in a way that far exceeded our best expectations. Thank you for your prayers for the team over the past 10 months as we prepared for and then set out upon our mission: to take the Gospel to thousands of Europeans who live in a sin-darkened world and rarely hear the name of Christ mentioned in a positive context.

The team has ministered in several German churches in the past 10 days. On the weekend of July 21 we were guests of a large assembly of believers at Undergruppenbach, near Heilbronn, where we held four services. We especially appreciated the opportunity to spend time in evangelism and recreation with the young people there.

After a fruitful week in Lithuania, the team arrived in Poznan, Poland, to minister with the Kryston family at the Evangelical Church-Agape. Dr. Mom was not with us; she was invited to spend a week at the Guetli for a missions conference.

Lithuanian believers along with American missionaries invested months of prayer and planning in the evangelistic meetings the team held in eight cities this week. The Lord answered their prayers and yours by bringing out at least 1000 unbelievers to hear the Gospel and receive tracts and copies of John and Romans. With this portion of the New Testament, workers gave out questionnaires to lead each reader through the plan of salvation via the "Romans road."

The team spent last weekend at the Guetli Mission Centre near Zurich, Switzerland. This “little farm” is well known among European believers as a center of evangelism and discipleship, a beautiful place to vacation in a Christian environment or to attend a Bible conference.

The Lord has brought us safely through another week of ministry in Germany. We spent the weekend serving with friends in Nurnberg.

We spent last weekend ministering with Pastor Reinhard Moeller at the Freie Evangeliche Church near Basel, Switzerland. There we held two evangelistic services, met many fine believers, and shared the Gospel with several unbelievers who attended the meetings. Taking care of a big team like ours is no small task. Our Swiss hosts really worked hard to accommodate us and offer us the opportunity to give testimony to our Lord’s power to save from sin.

We began our third week of ministry in Florence, Italy, where we were hosted by missionaries Sam and Ruth Wegner. The team held the Sunday morning service on June 11 and then had the privilege of hearing testimonies of church members and presenting more music at the afternoon service.

We began our second week of ministry at Buttikon, Switzerland, where we were guests of a local church in conjunction with Shiloh International Missions. We had two fine services with these Swiss believers who carry out extensive ministries in Albania and Ukraine. It is always a blessing to be guests of Pastor Samuel Haller, who is also a Bible scholar and translator.

As I sit at the computer here in Buttikon, Switzerland, the team is on an excursion into the mountains to see a high waterfall. The Lord has given us safe and uneventful travel to this point--our third city of ministry.
