MMT Update 06/20/2009
Dr. McCauley ...

Dear Friends:
Since the last Update we sent you, the team has ministered in nine German cities. During this time we have worked with four host ministries, three of which have shared us with other churches in their region. We are encouraged by the fellowship we’ve had with hundreds of believers over these days and by the large number of unbelievers with whom we’ve been able to share the Gospel.
We began on June 11 and 12 by providing testimonies and special music for a large tent revival in Nurnberg. Sponsored by the Frankische Folksmission and Leben Ist Mehr--a ministry that assists German churches in planning and hosting revivals--the Nurnberg tent meetings were well attended in spite of unseasonably cold, wet weather. Each afternoon 50 to 75 children came for the child evangelism classes taught by church members, and both evenings we were there the tent was full with about 300 people in attendance. The Gospel went forth powerfully. We believe that the Lord will bring many unbelievers to salvation as the revival comes to a close.
Our next stop was Karlsruhe, where we held a Saturday night concert and evangelistic meeting at the Christliche Gemeinde to kick off the Leben Ist Mehr revival that began there the next day. Many unbelievers came to the event, and we had good opportunities for personal evangelism afterwards.
At Haus Birkengrund in Dobel, we held a weekend Bible conference with Kevin Oberlin and Tim Joiner as speakers. In addition, we gave concerts with evangelistic messages or presented special music at five churches in the area. In the Christian hotel/conference center we were able to spend a day in manual labor to help our hosts. Team members enjoyed their work with the garden, kitchen, and housekeeping crews. Our children’s ministry at Dobel was also a special blessing this year.
The Evangeliums-Christen Gemeinde in Kaiserlautern hosted us on June 15 and 16. This assembly has a large, beautiful building and piece of property right in the center of a city that is populated by 100,000 Germans and 50,000 Americans who are there in the Armed Forces. Most of the members of the church are German nationals who lived in exile in Kazakstan until the fall of the USSR in 1991. They give a great amount of their energy and resources to the Lord’s service. We were honored to hold a concert and evangelistic service at this church as well as at a smaller church in the nearby village of Albisheim.
Then we had a very fruitful visit with Fred and Tabea Foster, Gospel Fellowship Association missionaries in Sinsheim, Germany. The Fosters are very good role models in their faithful ministry and kind hospitality. They gave us the opportunity to minister in two nursing homes and to give a concert in a very fine hall in the city. There again we met many church people and others from the city and were able to carry on conversations about the Lord as well as to distribute Gospel literature.
This weekend we’re holding our fourth Bible conference of the summer. This time we’re at Haus Felsengrund, a Bible and leisure-time center in the Black Forest. The setting is quiet and beautiful, and we expect the Lord to encourage our hosts and their guests here as we minister in word and song.
It bears repeating that the Lord has given us a delightful, earnest group of team members to work with this summer. We count it a privilege to minister with these congenial, diligent young people. Please pray for continued good health and safety for us all.
Faithfully yours,
Janie McCauley Musical Mission Team 2009
