Dear Friends,
We’ve had another week filled with opportunities to present the Gospel to unbelievers and to fellowship with German believers. Last weekend in Neuvied we presented four concerts featuring evangelistic messages. The Lord’s house was full for all of these services. The largest crowd—more than 1000 people—came on Sunday morning. We were richly blessed by these and other events, including a day trip to Koln, that allowed us to spend time with young people from this large assembly. Our experiences with host families also brought great joy to our hearts.
Then we spent Monday and Tuesday nights in Sinsheim with Fred and Tabea Foster, faithful missionaries who’ve been in Germany under GFA Missions for over 15 years. We held our first concert in the Fosters’ church meeting room on Monday evening and enjoyed fellowship with church members again on the second night. We also had the privilege of presenting a concert arranged by Brother Foster at a nursing home in Heilbronn.
On Wednesday and Thursday we were with our friends at the Brethren church in Metzingen. We held evangelistic concerts for a full house on both nights. Each year these believers, old and young alike, faithfully support our efforts by bringing in many unbelievers to hear the Gospel. It’s also a blessing to have fellowship with the large youth group, numbering around 150 people, at the Metzingen church.
On Friday we arrived at Haus Birkengrund in Dobel for a full weekend of ministry in and around the Black Forest region. First we held a Friday night concert under the sponsorship of a Christian school in Muhlacker-Lomershein. The venue was a stone church dating from the 15th century. Many children from the school came with their families to hear our presentation of the Gospel in song and word. We can’t remember having sung in any place with as fine an acoustic for a small choir concert as this German village church.
Saturday night’s evangelistic concert was in Karlsruhe. Then on Sunday afternoon we presented our annual concert at the village church in Dobel. We are always challenged to abide in Christ and give our best efforts to serving Him by the conduct and sacrificial work ethic of our friends on the staff at Haus Birkengrund.
Thank you for your prayers. Please remember to pray for our safety, especially as we travel on the Autobahn, and for the salvation of many lost souls here in Germany.
Faithfully yours,
Janie McCauley
