MMT Update 06/08/2009
Dr. McCauley ... Published: 6/8/2009

June 9, 2009

Dear Friends:

Thank you for your prayers for the team. We have settled well into our work and enjoyed the wonderful ministry opportunities and hospitality provided by our hosts. The Lord has given us many occasions to give out the Gospel in song, sermons, personal evangelism, and printed materials.

We began our ministry at Ebnat-Kappel, Switzerland, at the missions house Arche, where Dr. Greg and Mrs. Lily Kielmeyer served as our hosts. The first outreach activity they planned for us was to pass out tracts and sing on the streets of St. Gallen as a means of inviting people to our services at Ebnat. It was a joy to be joined in the ministry of literature distribution by members of an Ethiopian church in the city, one of whom also serves at the Arche.

Then from Friday night through Monday afternoon two of our preachers presented a Bible conference, and the team provided special music for the services. On Sunday afternoon we gave a full concert to a large and appreciative audience. On each of these occasions the Gospel went forth clearly, and personal contacts were made with spiritually needy people.

Our next stop was Metzingen, Germany, in the Stuttgart area, where we held two evening concerts at a Romanian Brethren Church, which is located right in the middle of Germany’s biggest outlet shopping area. It is a blessing to be with these believers who hold forth the truth of God’s Word right in the midst of a trendy marketplace. We especially enjoyed our activities with the young people of the church.

We next went to the Zurich region to serve with our friends at the Güetli, an evangelistic mission center that encompasses a farm, Christian hotel, and garden shop. Swiss believers spend their holidays or spare time attending services and seminars here. The team’s preachers again held a Bible conference in four sessions. The team provided music for these sessions, gave a Sunday afternoon concert to a large hall full of guests from the community, and did some practical work in the hotel and gardens as well. On Sunday we sang on the streets of Zug while our friends distributed literature and talked to several people who stopped to listen. Then we gave a concert in a big tent at the Italian festival on Lake Zug. On Sunday we traveled to another hotel in the mountains at Hasliberg to give a concert. We always leave the Güetli with a better sense of our own responsibilities in the Gospel ministry and a high regard for our friends’ work ethic and the standard of excellence they bring to all their activities. They are motivated by their love for Christ and their desire to see the Gospel carried to the ends of the earth.

We have now traveled 1000 miles safely. The Lord has also given us good general health. We are most grateful to Him for the wonderful team He has brought together for 2009.
Today we will visit a large church near Zurich to learn of the ministry there. Then on the weekend we have another Bible conference and series of concerts in the Black Forest of Germany. Please keep us in your prayers.

Faithfully yours,

Janie McCauley
